Ellston Shires currently have 3 Shire Horses that are working under saddle: the two stallions, Barwood Blend and Skeyton Matthew, and one gelding, Winestead Winston.

All have been trained for dressage and showing under saddle using the Tellington Touch training programme (www.ttouchtteam.co.uk) and have had numerous successful outings.

We are very happy to advise heavy horse owners wishing to train or compete their horses under saddle. We are hoping that we will be able to hold heavy horse riding training days/weekends in the future and would like to hear from anyone interested in such activities.
